Hi friends,
Finally, the wait for the 'LUG meet' is over. Here it comes! We're planning to
have a meet tentatively on 11th March 2006.
Well, most of it would be on restructuring LUG to make it work better. We
tried to the Wiki thing, but it seems most people don't even know about Wiki.
I also personally think that Wiki is a little complicated for the type of
data we have. We are thinking about a 'wordpress' blog.
Even the 'LUG archives' are a set of rich but barely usable information. We
were thinking if people can come up with ideas to port them manually or by
some mining and put in some presentable form.
The 'development' part of LUG has been neglected since long. We also would
want to discuss those issues. Maybe some people can voluntarily work on some
project "just for fun" to develop apps in Linux. Some of the 'senior members'
could become mentors to such projects too.
The other thing which we want is to highlight some good Linux app that someone
uses, so that others might start using it. For that we might need a few
speakers too.
We will try to address most of the issues I mentioned in the LUG meet. Any
more suggestions are welcome. Also, interested speakers, contact
Aprameya(aprameya), T.Rahul(trahul), Vidyasagar(vidyasagar), Seshank(seshank)
or me(anurag_rana).
Regards,
LUG Admins and Mods.
